So have a great Christmas to all of you around the world!
Καλά Χριστούγεννα to Greece!
Весела Коледа to Bulgaria!
Noeller to Turkey!
Today is a day that many people around the world will choose to celebrate and often each country will celebrate Christmas day in different ways. Quest Greek islands asked two expats in Greece how they will be spending Christmas this year!
Christine Rogers, who lives in Kos, Greece says:
"We will be spending it more or less the same as in the UK, except there will be no stockings, as my children are 19 and 23 years old. My children are now in London for a week, which is there Christmas present this year. There will also be no bucks fizz, because that would send me straight back to sleep!"
Nicki Hargreaves, who lives in Athens, Greece says:
"We will be celebrating in true British style! There will be stockings at the end of the bed for the children, we'll all be up early for a cooked breakfast and we will drink bucks fizz. We all open our presents, whilst the turkey cooks in the oven and have the Greek in-laws over for dinner. On the table we have the Christmas crackers, cranberry sauce (or marmalade, as my husband calls it), bread sauce, stuffing, pigs in blankets and sausage meat and onion. Then, to finish the day I sit and watch an afternoon film with the family and a glass of Baileys!"
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful day, from all of us at Quest Greek islands!
